Description
Made from light, opaque fabrics, the Ancilla Headwraps can be worn in 3 different ways: as a hanging veil, as a headband, and as a full coverage headwrap. Take a look at the pictures to see some examples.
They are around 14″-15″ long (unless otherwise noted) which will wrap nicely around the back of your hair if you choose to wear it in the full coverage style (unless you have a lot of hair, in which case contact me and we can customize one for you!) The ties are made from a cotton fabric and will tighten nicely without slipping too much. To keep the headwrap secure the whole day, try wearing your hair in a low and wide hairstyle and tie the headwrap nice and tightly around your head. Some of these fabrics, especially the cotton ones, are a little better at sticking to your head, and so if that is a big deciding factor for you, please let me know and I’ll give you more details on each fabric.
“Ancilla” is Latin for Handmaid, named after Our Lady, the Handmaid of the Lord, and inspired by her holy example of modesty, femininity and hiddenness. All of my works are dedicated to her and many of the things I decide to sew and offer in my shop come from mediating on her life and the way she dressed and carried herself. May we all follow her example in every aspect of our lives.
If you have any questions, have a custom request, or if you would really like to try the Ancilla Headwrap but cannot afford it, please send me an email: ani.slattery@gmail.com.
